Nota d'usoIl sostantivo italiano delinquente corrisponde all'inglese “criminal”, non a “delinquent”: Non preoccuparti, non è un delinquente!, don't worry, he's not a criminal! La parola “delinquent” è usata di norma come aggettivo in contesti legali, per indicare un'inadempienza, come nell'espressione: debitore moroso, delinquent debtor. L'unica locuzione in cui “delinquent” è usato come sostantivo e significa delinquente è juvenile delinquent, delinquente minorenne.
